Get The Job Done For 5$

Fiverr - Marketplace

One of the days on Facebook I run into a page called Fiverr. The page is an extension of the site Fiverr (still in Beta). A new community style marketplace for earning and spending some money in a bit more relaxed way. Or as they describe themselves: “Fiverr is a place for people to share things they’re willing to do for $5″.

The idea of the site feels very sympathetic. Get a job done for as little as 5$, or earn some extra cash with your unused skills. And some of the services (called Gigs by the community) offered on Fiverr are surprisingly useful.

The services offered on the site are divided in a few categories: Funny and Bizarre, Social Marketing, Graphics, Advertising, Technology, Business, Programming and one category for miscellaneous called Other.

What You Can Find On Fiverr

Below you see some examples of what you can find on the Fiverr marketplace. The descriptions come from the service providers and we don’t know the quality of the works since we haven’t tested them. A good idea could be to read the feedback from buyers.

I will create an Avatar movie portrait from your picture for $5
Make your user picture in social sites stand out from the rest. Send me a frontal photograph of your (or a friend) face, and I will turn you into a real avatar. All hand crafted. Not automation crap.

I will send you a complete SEO video course for $5
This video course is an instant download digital product and contains 27 instructional videos. It will take you from absolute beginner to a competent SEO user very quickly.

I will create 3D virtual box for your product for $5
All I need from you after you place your order is a copy of your logo and product name (also slogan if you like) and I will do the rest. The final work is a 500×500 pixels high resolution graphical file.

I will mask an object and professionally remove its background for $5
Send me a high resolution image and tell me which object you need extracted from it. I will send you back a photoshop PSD or PNG file with the object you want surrounded by transparent background.

The service base is not so extensive yet, but the idea of the site is fun and potentially useful. It is a marketplace we hope will grow and be online many years into the future.
