SimpleFolio is a portfolio theme, designed by Omar E. Corrales from Slimmity.com and released for Smashing Magazine. SimpleFolio theme has 2 widget areas and threaded comments, and 2 page templates for advanced usage. It also has an extensive option page that allows you to exclude all your portfolio items from your ordinary blog postings.
The SimpleFolio WordPress theme has a clean and simple design that fits well for a portfolio theme – with features that are logical and well adapted. The front page slider (s3Slider) harmonize with the overall design and is also a good example of the balance between function and design – not too much technicalities, and not too little either.
The SimpleFolio theme has 2 widget areas. Sidebar Widget (general pages excluding home page, portfolio and portfolio items) and Home Widget (under the slider, you can add text widgets or any other widget of your choice).
One page template is “redirect” and redirects to any location you wish. This feature should be handy if you are for example marketer. To use the “redirect” template you must create a new page and make a custom field named “redirect” – in this field you paste the URL to the site you wish to redirect to.
The live demo of SimpleFolio theme had occasionally some issues with slow downloading, but it is not the themes fault but a server issue. The downloading of the pages works normally when the theme is installed on a fully functional server.

Bugs And Support
Initially there were some problems with images, slider and parse errors, but the designer (Omar Corrales) has recently updated the theme and it seems like the update has solved those problems. But make sure to download the latest version of the theme.

The designer also offers support (for the moment anyway) on this theme through the support forums on Slimmity.com – and so far, the theme designer does an excellent job.
