Well Linda, there are many ways you could do. I suppose you want a representation page that is easy to update and maintain. Then you should choose to use the WordPress platform.
Why WordPress? Because of the great flexibility and it is also a very stable publishing tool. But you need to learn some CSS if you want a completely unique theme for your representation page. Many are scared to use CSS, but there is no need for you to worry about CSS. It is not at all as difficult that one might think – just visit W3Schools CSS Tutorial and take the time you need and be methodical.
A Template For Your Own Theme
But to build a whole WordPress theme from the ground is a bit too much to ask from a coding newbie. Fortunately, there are some nice ready made WordPress themes you can use as a template for your own theme. One of them, is Prototype by Justin Tadlock. Prototype is a specialized parent theme with multiple navigation menus, several widget areas, and per-post layouts, allowing anyone from designers to users to quickly and relatively easily create beautiful sites.
Personally, I have very good experience from working with Prototype WordPress Theme – and I think even someone with minor CSS knowledge can get some kind of acceptable result. There is also other themes similar to Prototype, but I prefer Prototype. Maybe you could take a look at PageLines – A drag-and-drop platform for professional websites based on HTML5 and CSS3 – this theme might be the solution for you.
If you have a need for an easy method to make landing pages – there is a WordPress plugin called Premium Viral Magnet, that is very handy and could be an option or an easy to handle complement for your new WP sale system.
