Firefox 4 Available For Download

On Tuesday (March 22) the Mozilla community released Firefox 4, making it available for free download on their page. Firefox 4 includes an updated interface for all platforms and huge performance enhancements, including the new JägerMonkey JavaScript engine.

A new and anticipated HTML5 parser and full support for web video, audio, drag and drop, and file handling means Firefox 4 is ready to run the web apps of both today and future.

The Mozilla Firefox Browser

Firefox 4 Beta Available For Download

Mozilla released on Tuesday (Feb 8th) the latest version of Firefox 4 Beta and it is now available for download and test. According to the Mozilla Blog, they have continued to improve performance and stability – while also implementing a “Do Not Track” privacy feature to provide more control over online behavioral tracking.

Firefox Home To The iPhone

The Mozilla Blog: Firefox has been working on an application for the iPhone based on the Firefox Sync technology. The application is called Firefox Home, and it gives iPhone users instant access to their Firefox browsing history, bookmarks and the set of tabs from their most recent browser session. This is part of an ongoing effort to provide a more personal Web experience with more user control.

FirefoxforMobile: This is a preliminary, non-branded sneak peek of Firefox Home app for the iPhone. Firefox Home gives users access to their Firefox history, bookmarks, open tabs, Awesome Bar – just the way they left it on their desktop. This application has yet to be submitted to the App Store.

[Press Release] Bugzilla Project announce the release of Bugzilla 3.6. This new version has a lot of exciting new features for users and administrators, including migration from other bug tracking systems, a simple “Browse” interface for browsing open bugs in a system, and usability improvements resulting from a scientific usability study conducted on Bugzilla.

Bugzilla is a Web-based general-purpose bugtracker and testing tool originally developed and used by the Mozilla project, and licensed under the Mozilla Public License. Released as open source software by Netscape Communications in 1998, it has been adopted by a variety of organizations for use as a defect tracker for both free and open source software and proprietary products.

On Thursday (December 17th) the Mozilla community released Firefox 3.6 Beta 5, making it available for free download and issuing an automatic update to all Firefox 3.6 beta users. The update contains over 100 fixes from the last Firefox 3.6 beta, containing many improvements for web developers, Add-on developers, and users.

Introducing New Features

School Of Firefox

From the blog Jane’s Ramblings by Jane Finette, Director of European Marketing at Mozilla, we find out that there will be a new learning destination for Firefox soon – called the “School of Firefox”. The School of Firefox will contain lessons, videos and tips on all you need to know about using Firefox.

From Jane’s Ramblings: “Its going to help new Firefox users get set up and familiar with Firefox features fast, and for those of us who think we already know the deal, we hope there’s lots more besides to learn about your fox”.

According to Jane Finette we can expect more news about “School Of Firefox” in the next couple of weeks.

According to Wikipedia, a screen capture, or video capture, are images taken over an extended period of time by the computer to record the visible items displayed on the monitor to form a video file.

Screen capture is useful for demonstrating and teaching software features – and is also a useful tool for ordinary software users and Internet marketers, to show others how a given task is accomplished in a specific software environment or for producing appealing product presentations in a cheap way.

Most of the major operating systems have no built-in mechanisms to record videos of the screen, and third party software’s like Camtasia Studio and BB FlashBack can appear like a bit expensive if you don’t make screen capture videos on a regular basis.

But there is an alternative to make an appealing video presentation as cheap as it can be (free) and simple enough for ordinary PC user to learn.

You only need two things: a Firefox Browser and Capture Fox Firefox Add-On. Both are completely free and can be downloaded from the links below.

Mozilla Firefox is a free and open source web browser descended from the Mozilla Application Suite and managed by Mozilla Corporation. Firefox had 21% of the recorded usage share of web browsers as of January 2009, making it the second-most popular browser in current use worldwide.

Firefox includes tabbed browsing, a spell checker, incremental find, live bookmarking, a download manager, and an integrated search system that uses the user’s desired search engine. Functions can be added through add-ons created by third-party developers, the most popular of which include the NoScript JavaScript disabling utility, Tab Mix Plus customizer, Adblock Plus ad blocking utility, Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer (bookmark synchronizer), DownThemAll! download enhancer, and Web Developer toolbar.
